Great slideshows for great images has been a problem long addressed by photographers. As a member of the Calgary and Toronto camera clubs the slideshow command performances were a show in themselves with dual projector setups, music [or narration] and fantastic slide transitions. So it is not surprising to find some great Web slideshow apps.
Of particular interest are slideshow plugins that work with WordPress, Joomla, or Blogger. The number of very good slideshow plugins is not small. Here is a 3D Slider or Gallery plugin that has proved to be very helpful in a broad array of client use cases:
The pictures are not great but the event, the Cobourg Ontario 50th Highland Games were topnotch. What make the 3D Gallery slider attractive beyond its attractive carousel display is its simplicity of commands – only 3 options. Start image, autoplay swich, and interval time between image changes in autoplay. yet users can easily add and position captions. Add links in those captions or to the slide itself makes the 3D Gallery a natural for a being a visual sitemap, product intro page or Splash start page for a website. And thus definitely go here to see the full-size slideshow and its possibilities. More technical specs for the slider can be found here.
The jQuery code has been made simple to handle – and the slider is semi-responsive. This means the header bar does respond to downsizing but the slideshow itself remains fixed in size. However, if you make the images a constant width, 3DGallery works well with images of varying height. This slider works best with webpages where you have full page size control. And the cost at free is just about right.
